Safety Points to Consider

Most of our trails are two-way and multiple use – you may well meet someone coming towards you – please take care and ride so that you can stop safely if this happens.

There is often NO cell phone coverage in these remote wilderness areas.

Please make sure that you prepare yourselves and your bike and riding equipment.

For the sake of your safety we recommend that there is a minimum of two people in your group.

Please read our ‘things to take’ section carefully – and take those things!

Please take a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) or In-Reach Communication device – and know how and when to use it.

Please take a First Aid kit and an emergency survival blanket

Please read the outdoor safety code at www.adventuresmart.org.nz

Please fill in the intentions form at www.adventuresmart.org.nz/outdoors-intentions/email/

Please take a Topographical map and preferably a GPS device.
